Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fiber

UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber) is a subset of thermoplastic polyethylene. It is generated by a gel spinning method using extremely long chains of polyethylene with a molecular mass between 1 and 5 million amu.

Product Description

History

Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) was first polymerized in the 1950’s. The first UHMWPE fibers were commercialized in the late 1970’s.

Composition

UHMWPE is a type of polyolefin that is composed of very long chains of polyethylene with a very high percentage of parallel orientation and high level of crystallinity. The extremely long polymer chains enable load transfer by strengthening intermolecular interactions. UHMWPE fibers are manufactured in a gel spinning process.

Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fiber

UHMWPE Fiber to solve friction, wear and material flow problems in many areas of industry. The material is distinguished for its outstanding sliding properties, extreme wear resistance, high impact strength and very high resistance to chemicals and has established itself in technical applications.

UHMWPE Fiber is odorless tasteless and nontoxic. It is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals except oxidizing acids has extremely low moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of friction. It is self-lubricating. It is highly resistant to abrasion and can reach 15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel under certain conditions. Its coefficient 0 friction is significantly lower than that of nylon and acetal, and is comparable to that of polytetrafluoroethylene (PETE, Teflon), but UHMWPE has better abrasion resistance than PTEE.

*Superfine denier:Due to its super-strength tensile properties and super-high modulus, ultra-fine denier yarns can effectively resist ultraviolet rays.

*Super high-strength wire:Because of its wear resistance and damage resistance, it is widely used in marine fishery, military protection, deep sea cages and so on.

*Colored silk: Due to the particularity of the product process, the fiber has better biocompatibility, the product silk is smooth, the color is eve.

*Honor: Won many honors such as high-tech enterprise, technology-based enterprise, and contract-honoring enterprise.

Applications of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fiber

With such comprehensive characteristics, it has been of extensive use in Industria & bulletproof and protection products, such as cables, fishing lines, fishing nets, bulletproof vests, ballistic helmets, anti-cutting gloves, and so on.

Many years of processing expertise in the production of UHMWPE fiber, gives LongKui the capacity to produce 400D-1200D UHMWPE fibers with an annual output of 4000 tons.
